Assessment
Unaided Work:
Preparation for the test on a teaching module for students of grades 1-3 – self-defence postures and movements, using movement games, acrobatic techniques, falls backwards and sideways. Preparation for the test on a teaching module for students of grades 4-6 – recognition of the situation and selection of optimal technique, falls from different positions on different parts of the body, defence against blows and kicks. Preparation for the test on a teaching module for students of grades 7-12 – getting out of opponent’s holds, grasps and strangle holds, defence against hits using a throwing technique. Creation of teaching methodological material that can be used later in teaching self-defence to others – safety and rules, description of games, techniques, classification of self-defence techniques, description of injury prevention while teaching self-defence techniques. Development of a self-defence techniques teaching plan.
Assessment Criteria:
For a student to get a successful assessment, the following will be assessed: - attitude towards education, development dynamics, active participation in classes (10%); - independent work performed by the student (10%); - practical examination of the study course (60%); - theoretical examination of the study course – exam (20%).
Final Examination (Full-Time):Exam
Final Examination (Part-Time):Exam
Learning Outcomes
Knowledge:Grades 1-3 • knowledge of compliance with safety and rules during self-defence classes; Grades 4-6 • knowledge of compliance with safety and rules, observing injury prevention; Grades 7-12 • knowledge of the impact of self-defence elements on fitness, improvement of morals, as well as responsibility under the criminal law.
Skills:Grades 1-3 • safe self-defence postures and movements using movement games; • acrobatic techniques – front, back, right and left side shoulder somersaults; • cannon-ball, when falling, falling backwards and sideways. Grades 4-6 • skills to recognise a situation for the use of self-defence techniques using the appropriate posture, movement strategy and technique; • falls from different positions on different parts of the body – forward, forward sideways, backward, sideways; • skill to defend against blows and kicks. Grades 7-12 • knows how to avoid and get out of opponent’s holds, grasps and strangle holds, as well as using throws.
Competencies:Grades 1-3 • purposefully learns safe self-defence posture, movement and cannon-ball; Grades 4-6 • recognises a situation for the use of self-defence techniques, uses appropriate posture, performs falls from different positions on different parts of the body, knows how to defend against blows and kicks; Grades 7-12 • critically evaluates the situation and, using self-defence techniques, avoids and gets out of opponent’s holds and grasps, throws and strangle holds; • competence to develop a self-defence techniques teaching plan according to the standard of primary, school and secondary education.
