Objective

To be able to evaluate the role and nature of EU institutions, their compliance with international law; to be able to critically analyse the strengths and weaknesses of the legal mechanisms of EU institutions; to be able to conduct independent research on EU institutions; to be able to formulate independent and different views and assessments of specific manifestations of the activities of EU institutions.

Prerequisites

Completed course "Legal Institutions".

Learning outcomes

Knowledge

Students understand the institutional system of law enforcement in the European Union. Students are able to identify specific European Union law enforcement institutions, know their competence, functions, and forms. Students are able to comprehensively analyse and understand the problems of operation of law enforcement agencies and offer solutions to them.

Skills

Students are able to apply their knowledge independently in ensuring cooperation with European Union law enforcement institutions. Students are able to reasonably develop communication with the institutions of the institutional system of the European Union according to their competence, to analyse and evaluate the efficiency and effectiveness of the activities of the institutions of the institutional system of the European Union.

Competence

Students are able to integrate knowledge to independently formulate and critically analyse theoretical and practical issues of a legal nature related to the institutional system of law enforcement in the European Union.
