Objective

To master the theoretical perspective and analytical approach to understand the changing field of cultural journalism in the context of modern media system and cultural life.

Prerequisites

Basic knowledge in media and communication theories, history of communication and ethics.

Learning outcomes

Knowledge

Students can name and explain theoretical approaches and main discussed matters in the area of cultural media and cultural journalism, as well as basic elements of analysis for the analysis of cultural journalism.

Skills

Students are ready:
• to critically analyse products of cultural journalism in different types of media;
• to provide consultations to media and public relations specialists on matters of cultural journalism;
• to create critical articles and/or shows in the field of cultural journalism.

Competence

Students are able to use their knowledge in the field of cultural media and cultural journalism to be able to develop independent, sustainable cultural journalism projects and to identify problems related to the agenda, journalistic quality, audience and media specifics of cultural journalism.
