Objective

Introduce students with the basics of microprosthodontics, give the understanding about transition between operative dentistry to prosthodontics, improve knowledge in dental materials, introduce with advantages of digital dentistry, CEREC produced indirect tooth restorations (ITR), explain digital workflow in dentistry, make an (ITR) in preclinic and learn to cement them.

Prerequisites

Dental anatomy and occlusion, dental materials, preclinical course in cariology and prosthodontics, periodontology, endodontology, computer knowledge.

Learning outcomes

Knowledge

On successful completion of the course students will know the basics of the microprosthodontics: evaluation of teeth, teeth preparation and preservation for ITR, correct usage of materials and instruments, analogue and digital impressions, CEREC system in microprosthodontics, cementation of ITR.

Skills

Practical ability to restore teeth with inlays, onlays, veneers, partial crowns made from different materials via digital workflow.

Competence

Ability to use theoretical and practical knowledge in microprosthodontics in everyday dental practice, offering the patients more therapy modalities using appropriate materials and techniques.
