Objective

The purpose of the National Degree examination is to provide the knowledge, skills and competence necessary for obtaining the qualification of an industrial or clinical pharmacist.
During the National Degree examination, the student of Industrial Pharmacy presents a problem situation or case analysis, in which the student demonstrates his / her ability to analyze available information, develop skills for analysis of situations in the pharmaceutical industry, promote integrated vision and evidence-based decision-making.
During the National Degree examination, the Clinical Pharmacy student presents a clinical case analysis, in which the student demonstrates his / her ability to understand diagnoses, clinical examination results, analyze them and evaluate the prescribed drug therapy and / or make necessary adjustments and / or determine additional necessary examinations, recommendations for further medical treatment of the patient and care staff.
The student receives a problem situation or case analysis by lot in accordance with the practice sections approved by the State Placement Program. Clinical cases include the following medical fields that correspond to the practice sections approved in the State Placement Program: pulmonology, cardiology, nephrology, dermatology and wound care, gastroenterology, endocrinology, rheumatology, hematology and oncology, infectious diseases, urology and gynecology, neurology and psychiatry, anesthesia, resuscitation, family medicine. Problem situations or cases in Industrial Pharmacy include the following topics that correspond to the practice sections approved by the State Placement Program – production of active pharmaceutical ingredients, development of finished dosage forms, production of finished dosage forms.

Prerequisites

All study courses and placement acquired in the study program.

Learning outcomes

Knowledge

In the Industrial Pharmacy program – in-depth knowledge of the development and production of dosage forms, quality control, development and distribution of registration dossiers.
In the Clinical pharmacy program – in-depth and expanded theoretical and methodological knowledge in clinical pharmacy, pharmacology, drug metabolism and their interactions, pharmaceutical biochemistry and toxicology, pharmacoeconomics.

Skills

In the Industrial pharmacy program – is able to find, select, analyze, use scientific literature, compile scientific literature, perform data processing, summarize the obtained information, critically analyze it, give your assessment and present the results.
In the Clinical pharmacy program – is able to use the acquired knowledge and problem-solving skills, the principles of evidence-based pharmacy to carry out research work, as well as highly qualified clinical pharmacist professional functions, choosing the most appropriate medical treatment model for the patient and monitoring medical treatment. Able to independently formulate and critically analyze the pharmacotherapy prescribed to patients, taking into account the diagnosis, symptoms, results of examinations, as well as the principles of safety, efficacy and economy, if necessary, propose pharmacotherapy adjustments.

Competence

In the Industrial Pharmacy program – is able to apply research skills and problem-solving skills to the analysis of situations in the pharmaceutical industry, is able to integrate theoretical knowledge acquired in pharmacy and industrial pharmacy studies, as well as, if necessary, supplement knowledge to solve problems and substantiate one's opinion. Able to assess the degree of evidence of the data and decide on further action.
In the Clinical pharmacy program – is able to explain and discuss the issues of drug prescribing (pharmacodynamics, pharmacokinetics, pharmacoeconomic analysis) with healthcare professionals and patients. Able to formulate and analyze current problems in clinical pharmacy, compile scientific literature, choose the most appropriate way to solve the problem and obtain data, process data, summarize the information obtained, analyze it, give their assessment and present the results.
