The RSU Institute of Public Health invites students, medical residents and lecturers to attend four guest seminars with the theme 'Research Capacity Strengthening, including sexual and reproductive health', by Professor Emeritus Johannes Bitzer, University of Basel (Switzerland). The seminars are dedicated to the strengthening of research capacity, mainly concerning sexual and reproductive health.
Dr. Johannes Bitzer is Professor emeritus in Gynaecology & Obstetrics at the University of Basel, Switzerland. During his career he has published more than 200 highly acclaimed research papers, edited three books and been a co-author of 20 more. Prof. Bitzer has also given more than 300 lectures to students and medical professionals.
In addition to his work as an educator, prof. Bitzer for many years was the president of the European Society of Contraception and of the International Society of Psychosomatic Obstetrics and Gynecology. Prof. Bitzer has been a member of multiple international executive and advisory boards concerning family planning, sexology and menopause.
Currently prof. Bitzer is the director of the Diploma of Advanced Studies in Sexual Medicine at the Advanced Study Center of the University of Basel. He is also the editor in Chief of the European Journal of Contraception and Reproductive Health Care and the associated Editor of the Journal Sexual medicine.
