Brain@Work - Information competence as booster for prospective scientists

Objectives
The European Union includes data and information literacy in the set of fundamental skills for lifelong learning as a dimension of digital competence, a crucial resource for citizens and workers in contemporary society. Despite the large amount of information available on the internet and the importance that this holds in everyone’s daily life, experiences and training methods regarding information literacy remain extremely fragmented and disorganised in Europe, particularly in their application to the STEM disciplines.
Aims
The BRAIN@WORK project aims to contribute to the advancement of knowledge and the systematisation of methodologies within information literacy for technical-scientific disciplines. To do this, the project team will produce the following tools through the exchange of good practices, training activities and comparative research: research on the most widespread teaching strategies and methodologies in Europe; new training modules for researchers and students; tools for measuring acquired skills; guidelines to support trainers.
