Objective

To provide students with the opportunity of acquiring general knowledge of the criminal procedure law, which would facilitate the acquisition of knowledge and skills specific to the field of law, providing the opportunity to assess and apply criminal procedural standards, developing the student’s competence in criminal procedure law.

Prerequisites

Criminal law. General Part, Legal Theory.

Learning outcomes

Knowledge

The student is able to demonstrate the basic and specialised knowledge of the field of criminal procedure law and a critical understanding of this knowledge, moreover, some of the knowledge corresponds to the highest level of achievements in the field of law. The student is able to demonstrate understanding of the most important concepts and regularities in the field of criminal procedure law.

Skills

The student is able to demonstrate a scientific approach to problem solving in the field of criminal procedure law. The student is able to demonstrate a scientific approach to problem solving; able to structure their learning independently, as well as make decisions and find creative solutions in changing or unclear circumstances. The student is able to take on responsibility and initiative when performing work individually, in a team or when managing the work of other people. The student is able to use theoretical foundations and skills of criminal procedure law acquired in order to formulate and analytically describe information, problems and solutions in the field of criminal procedure law, to explain these and to discuss in a reasoned way with specialists and non-specialists.

Competence

The student is able to find a solution to the relevant factual circumstances in the field of criminal procedure law independently or within a work group and to draft procedural documents. The student is able to independently select and process legal information necessary for the execution of work assignments. The student is able to make decisions and solve problems in the field of criminal procedure law.
