A practical workshop on proposal preparation and project management, led by PD Dr. rer. nat. habil. Daniel Mertens from Germany, will be held on 26–27 June.
The workshop is organized within the project Reducing networking gaps between Rīga Stradiņš University (RSU) and internationally leading counterparts in viral infection-induced autoimmunity research (VirA) financed by EU Research and Innovation Programme Horizon 2020.
The objective of the workshop is to improve the skills in proposal preparation and project management / administration, as well as introduce to artificial intelligence tools usable for researchers in project proposal writing.
The workshop leader PD Dr. rer. nat. habil. Daniel Mertens (pictured) heads two research groups, one group at the German Cancer Research Centre (Deutsches Krebsforschungszentrum, DKFZ) in Heidelberg and a research group at the University Hospital Ulm. As a scientist, Daniel Mertens is an author of 100 publications that have been cited more than 5700 times by colleagues (H-Index 38). Since 2011, he has accumulated experience for training scientists, physicians, administrators and staff in transferable skills, so far >4000 participants took part in international workshops in Europe, USA and Africa.
The working language of the workshop will be English.
