Objective

To promote students' knowledge of adapted physical activities for people with functional impairments.

Prerequisites

Prior knowledge of anatomy, kinesiology, sports theory and methodology, and physical activity for health impairments is required.

Learning outcomes

Knowledge

As a result of the course, students will be able to:
- Identify and recognise the main types of impairment
- Gain an understanding of physical activity adaptations
- List the Paralympic sports and the basic principles of classification.

Skills

As a result of the course, students will be able to:
- Adapt physical activities and tasks to the type of impairment
- Use elements or activities of Paralympic sports in their practice.

Competence

Using the knowledge and skills acquired, students will be able to find solutions to non-standard situations and adapt physical activities and tasks to the client's or patient's abilities, based on the latest scientific literature and data.
