The Rīga Stradiņš University (RSU) Department of Sports and Nutrition invites you to attend the seminar Food Sustainability. The seminar will address the issue of food sustainability, one of the most important issues in society today. An important aspect of food sustainability is to ensure that food production and consumption is beneficial for people, the environment, and society as a whole.
Experts from both Latvia and Iceland will speak at the seminar. Among the speakers will be Prof. Bryndís Eva Birgisdóttir and Prof. Ólafur Ögmundarson from the University of Iceland. They will address future demands of sustainable nutrition and the tools students need to meet these demands. Irita Lāce from the Ministry of Agriculture will discuss sustainable food systems and the shelf life of various foods. Miķelis Grīviņš, a tenured professor at RSU, will address sustainability opportunities and challenges in the Latvian food system.
The seminar is organised within the framework of the European Economic Area (EEA) Grant Project Staff Mobility Between Rīga Stradiņš University and the University of Iceland to Establish Scientific Collaboration in the Nutrition Field (EEA-GRANT-218) funded by Norway, Iceland and Liechtenstein.

Photographs may be taken and live video streaming may take place at the venue. Your participation in the Event is voluntary. If you have agreed to participate in the Event, you have the right to stop your participation at any time. In addition, you have the right to request access to your personal data, to correct or delete your personal data, to object to processing or to request the transfer of your personal data.
