WHO Collaborating Centre for Health Professional Education

The functions of the World Health Organization (WHO) Collaborating Centre for Health Professional Education was delegated to the Faculty of Health and Sports Sciences of Rīga Stradiņš university on 20 November 2018.

Terms of reference

• On request of the WHO, to provide technical assistance on transforming health professional education and training
• To support the WHO by conducting research and generating evidence on health professionals education
• To promote, raise awareness and disseminate the WHO policies, documents and promotional materials

Activities

• Scaling up and transforming health professionals education and training to address population health needs
• Generating evidence on health professionals education and training
• Advocacy, promotion and dissemination of the WHO materials
