About Study Course
Objective
To promote mastering of students’ cognitive methods, to learn the principles of “Fair Play” as a basic requirement of sports ethics. To develop experience of creative activity. To promote the development of students’ autonomy in solving research tasks. To provide knowledge and skills to work in a multicultural environment.
Prerequisites
Study courses mastered: Teacher’s Professional Skills, Civil Protection, State Security and Environmental Protection for Sustainable Development, Teaching and Learning in the Context of Diversity, Business and Accounting, Educational Psychology for Teachers, Biomechanics and Ergonomics, Human Anatomy and Dynamic Anatomy, Management of Educational Institution, Foundations and Methodology of Obstacle Overcoming, Foundations and Methodology of Moving Objects, Foundations and Methodology of Moving, History of Sport, Philosophy of Sport.
Learning outcomes
1. Concept of Fair Play, to illustrate by examples from the chosen athletic discipline.
2. Multiculturalism and multicultural education.
3. Basic principles of the Olympic movement, the achievements of Latvian athletes at the Olympic games.
4. Knows how to prepare tasks for children of different ages on matters of the Olympic movement.
5. Understands the concept of “Fair Play”, can interpret, debate and argue.
