Objective

To deepen understanding of the statistical methods used for data analysis in psychological research and to improve skills for their application in the processing and analysis of research results by developing the ability to independently decide on the use of appropriate statistical methods for checking the hypotheses put forward or for clarification of research questions.

Prerequisites

Master's level experience in research, knowledge of statistical data processing methods.

Learning outcomes

Knowledge

Student uses correct terminology of mathematical statistics; explains the differences between various univariance and multivariance statistical methods; describes statistical modelling.

Skills

Selects the scientific research carried out in the quantitative strategy, explains the results described in the publication, taking into consideration the design constraints of the research; technically manages the application of various statistical methods; analyses statistical indicators; correctly describes the results obtained.

Competence

Analyses the results of the published research; uses appropriate quantitative data processing techniques to solve the tasks set forth in the study; analyses the obtained data processing results and formulates the correct conclusions, develops quantitative research scheme.
