About Study Course
Objective
Provide awareness and basic knowledge of international public law (IPL); teach the skills to analyse IPL issues, identify their nature and content; provide knowledge of the importance of IPL; provide basic knowledge of the interaction between IPL regulatory systems and international IPL documents and their application in law enforcement and enforcement practices in Latvia. Help students to acquire skills in independent studies to acquire topics of the course sufficiently deeply and qualitatively; directing students to research and analysis of topical, different aspects of issues; skilled knowledge of the mechanisms for enforcing international public law in transnational relations, regulation and conflict resolution.

Learning outcomes
Students will be able to identify the most important aspects of International Law as a result of the acquisition of the study course; to describe and analyse the main fundamental principles of these rights in the world and in Latvia; will be able to focus on national international relations, to analyse the current challenges of international law and the globalisation processes.
As a result of the studies students will be competent and able to see and analyse the potential challenges of International Law, the causes of problems and to find solutions; they will be prepared to take the necessary defense actions in cases of possible violations of International Law, effectively applying relevant international and national rules.
The knowledge acquired will enable students to participate in the work of institutions where International Law is applied; promote the competences of these institutions in international relations, as well strengthen the development and promotion of these rights; the acquired knowledge will also allow students to participate in international competitions for job vacancies outside the borders of Latvia.
