Objective

Impart knowledge of operational methods, activities and their organisational provision.

Prerequisites

Criminal Process, Legal Institutions, Legal Regulation of Operational Activity in Latvia and Abroad. Criminal Law.

Learning outcomes

Knowledge

Students acquire knowledge of types of operational activities and their application in operational work in Latvia and other EU Member States, as well as outside the EU. Current challenges and novelties in the context of amendments to the Operational Activities Law, Law on Judicial Power, Law on State Security Institutions and Criminal Procedure Law.

Skills

Able to assess the situation and the relevant methods selected in accordance with the requirements set forth in the Operational Activities Law, to forecast and evaluate the results of the activity.

Competence

Able to assess the situation and the relevant methods selected, and the results of the activity. Decide on the further use of the information obtained in the process of operational work or in criminal proceedings.
