About Study Course
Objective
To give students knowledge about the use of physical exercise for seniors physical preparedness, strengthening of health and quality of life, to develop awareness of the nature of the active aging and the importance of physical activity application.
Prerequisites
Sports physiology, psychology, health sports foundation.
Learning outcomes
After successful completion of the acquisition of the subject, the student will be able to:
-To characterize elderly aging social problems;
-To understand and explain the aging process in the body,
-To characterize healthy aging related to lifestyle and disease prevention;
-To explain and serve to justify the importance of the preservation of function;
-To call and describe the recommended ways of physical exercise;
-To tell about activities principles of physical exercise for seniors.
Following the successful acquisition of the study course the students will be able to:
-To understand and communicate with older clients;
-Educate older people about physical activity;
-Use aerobic, balance, strength and muscle stretching exercises for health strengthening;
-Select and recommend appropriate exercises, load the volume and intensity of the different types of classes for the elderly;
-Will be able to create a common health sports training program for the elderly,
- Ably use older activation principles.
Acquired skills and competencies will orient older people active aging guidelines and current problems through basic science knowledge in gerontology and knowledge of physical activity, will allow: to assess the fitness for seniors, to analyze the data collected in relation to the client's overall pregnant; justify the most urgent opportunities for active aging.
