Objective

Acquire knowledge and promote skills to implement evidence-based care using research methodologies and terminology.

Prerequisites

Philosophy and medical ethics, propaedeutics, introduction to the use of library, medical terminology in a foreign language.

Learning outcomes

Knowledge

Gained knowledge and understanding of the concept of health, the impact of science and technology, research terminology and methodology, the concept of evidence-based care, the selection and processing of sources of scientific information, the advantages and limitations of evidence-based care.

Skills

Students develop skills to use research methodology and terminology, and to use scientific information. Apply theories and concepts of nursing and other sciences related to health care and, according to the clinical situation, integrate them into care work.

Competence

On completion of the study course students will have developed the competence: to implement evidence-based care using research methodology and terminology and to apply evidence-based scientific achievements in nursing practice.
