Objective

Deepen knowledge and skills about the risk factors, manifestations, consequences of psychological crisis and psychological trauma and the possibilities of psychological help for people in crisis.

Prerequisites

General knowledge at the bachelor's level.

Learning outcomes

Knowledge

Students explain the risk factors, manifestations and consequences of psychological crisis and mental trauma. Describe the psychological aspects of suicide. Characterise and describe the basic principles of psychological help for people in crisis.

Skills

Students analyse the possible risk factors, manifestations and consequences of crisis and mental trauma in given cases. Students evaluate the manifestations of acute and post-traumatic stress disorder based on current classifications of diseases. Students develop a crisis intervention plan, conduct crisis intervention in groups of three.

Competence

Using the acquired knowledge about psychological crises and trauma, students analyse cases of psychological crises and trauma, develop a crisis intervention plan, perform a case study crisis intervention in groups of three, explain crisis, PTSD, suicide prevention measures.
