Objective

To develop the students’ understanding of mental disorders, their aetiology, manifestations and methods of psychological treatment, prevention and psycho-education in the military field, as well as to improve the students' skills in applying psychological treatment methods / interventions, implementation of psychological rehabilitation of soldiers, including the provision of psychological support to soldiers' families.

Knowledge

Students describe the preventive work and psycho-education principles of the psychologist in the military field, characterize the etiology of mental disorders and their manifestations in soldiers; identify, justify and analyze the selected psychological treatment methods (interventions), lists criteria for assessing the results of psychological support. Students describe aspects of soldier rehabilitation and psychological treatment for soldier families.

Skills

Students apply military knowledge to plan preventive work and psycho-educational activities, set psychological treatment goals that can be achieved according to the client's needs (case description), select the most appropriate intervention methods and plan the psychological treatment process. Students plan rehabilitation of soldiers (case description) and and psychological treatment for soldiers' families.

Competence

Students independently plan preventive work and psycho-education activities in the military field, based on the case description sets achievable goals psychological treatment, choose appropriate psychological treatment methods (intervention) and develops a work plan for providing psychological treatment to soldiers, assessing restrictions and observing ethical principles. Students independently plan the rehabilitation of soldiers and psychological support for soldiers' families.
