About Study Course
Objective
To provide the opportunity to acquire theoretical knowledge, promote understanding and develop skills in the elderly care, taking into consideration various aspects of ageing, in the person's individual environment and family, using effective therapeutic communication.
Prerequisites
Anatomy and physiology, pathological physiology, pharmacology, care process, medical ethics, interpersonal communication in health care, introduction to evidence-based nursing.
Learning outcomes
Upon completion of the study course, students will be able to demonstrate an understanding of the biological, medical, psychological and social aspects of the ageing problem and its solutions in the context of the care process; physiological changes in the body of the ageing person, geriatric rehabilitation and prevention, home care planning and organisation.
Upon completion of the study course, students will be able to plan, provide and evaluate geriatric care. Plan, organise and evaluate home care.
Upon completion of the study course, students will be able to provide geriatric care, interdisciplinary cooperation, observing the legal-ethical principles in the care of seniors in different care environments, in different health conditions of seniors, in the individual environment of the individual and in the family, including legal representatives.
