About Study Course
Objective
Acquire knowledge about alternative and augmentative communication methods and aids, user groups and necessity of AAC interventions. To get basic understanding and skills of usage and adaptation of the various technical aids.
Prerequisites
Anatomy, physiology, developmental psychology.
Learning outcomes
Will be able to define and describe the nature of the AAC system and methods, will be able to describe alternative aids' user groups. Will know and will be able to describe the translation of training methods. Gain knowledge about AAC practical application at work and modern idea of AAC, as well as request for the AAC by various groups of users.
Will be able to select the desired alternative system aids in connection with the speech disorder severity and nature. Learn aids operating principles, ways and means to work with people who have communication and interaction difficulties. Will be able to argue necessity of the AAC intervention.
Will be able to apply practical communication training systems and methods.
