Objective

The aim of the study course is to form students' understanding and to promote the acquisition of knowledge about the diversity of public health issues. To acquaint with methods of cognition of public health problems and their use in identification, control and reduction of public health problems.

Basics of public health.

Learning outcomes

Knowledge

Name methods for identifying and analyzing public health problems; to list the main public health problems and their causes; outline solutions to problems.

Skills

Select public health information; to calculate basic demographic and disease incidence indicators; to prepare and present an analysis of a specific public health problem.

Competence

Critically and comparatively evaluate the public health situation using information sources characterizing public health; to substantiate tasks in solving public health problems; to plan the activities of a public health specialist in a specific situation.
