Objective

Understanding of the essence of communication, its objectives and tools in order to be able to apply it in practice.

Prerequisites

According to secondary education.

Learning outcomes

Knowledge

Students can name elements, structure and principles of communication; recognize the difference between different levels of communication and between various reaction types among people. Students can describe communication barriers, effective methods of giving and receiving information, and understand the main conflict solving strategies.

Skills

Students should be able to analyse cases, influence communication process, solve conflicts, manage professional relationships with patients/clients, colleagues, give and receive information and feedback, overcome communicative barriers, paraphrase and listen actively.

Competence

Cognitive competence – ability to use theoretical knowledge in practical settings.
