About Study Course
Objective
To provide students with knowledge on basic guidelines and methods of project management in accordance with the project manager’s professional standard and in accordance with international requirements to professional competence in project management. To provide students with skills in preparation of project proposals (rationale), planning, organisation, supervision and closure of projects in order to implement innovative and research idea-based projects.
Prerequisites
Study courses mastered: “Introduction to the studies and speciality”, “Introduction to communication theories”.
Learning outcomes
On completion of the course students name, define and explain:
• main concepts of a project, project management guidelines;
• coordination of interests of different stakeholders of a project;
• creation and leading of a project team.
On completion of the course students understand, interpret and discuss:
• the use of the logical framework method in developing a project rationale;
• internal and external risk factors of a project, measures for mitigation internal risks and assumptions for external risks;
• criteria of projects which can be objectively controlled, their verification methods and information sources.
On completion of the course students use, verify and analyse:
• coordination, supervision and re-planning of a project;
• work packages and progress of a project.
Students integrate, unite, combine and discuss:
• planning of stages of the project life cycle, management of project changes;
• planning and supervision of project developments (work tasks), time and deadlines, investments and costs.
