About Study Course
Objective
First year students practice to refine and strengthen the theoretical knowledge and practical skills, including basic needs of patients and clients, in accordance with the principles of professional ethics, professional standards of midwifery and the study program of the first academic year.
Prerequisites
Anatomy, physiology and pathological physiology, pharmacology, medical ethics, clinical care basics, introduction of infection control, first aid.
Learning outcomes
Healthy and sick client / patient basic assurance and assessment; aseptic and antiseptics importance and their application in practice; the patient's self-care deficit levels ensuring the patient's physiological needs.
Practical skills that are necessary for the patient's physiological basic needs, including: NI prevention, comfort and security, all kinds of hygiene procedures, the patient's bed-making, patient feeding, the patient's excreta collection and disinfection measures, patient transport bed, space and the environment, consistent with safety and ergonomics the basic principles.
Non-technical skills: improved basic social skills – communicative, independent work and team work skills. The student is able to integrate cognitive and interpersonal skills in the care process and in communication with patients, their relatives and care team members.
The ability to use and evaluate appropriate clinical procedures, medical devices and other activities, to ensure optimum patient care.
