Objective

Raise awareness of the rehabilitation principles, their application in practice as a midwife.

Prerequisites

Anatomy and normal physiology, obstetrics, gynecology, pediatrics and the care of patients.

Learning outcomes

Knowledge

Students will be able to describe the basic principles of exercises for pregnant women, the recommended types of activities, as well as contraindicated activities. Compare the importance of post-natal exercises, depending on the type of delivery. Will be able to recommend an ergonomically correct posture daily activities during pregnancy, after delivery, and patient transfer methods and patient transfer aids.

Skills

Students will be able to use static, dynamic breathing exercises for pregnant women and women in childbirth, depending on the delivery period, as well as post-natal period. Students will be able to choose and recommend pelvic floor exercises in case of urinary incontinence prevention. Students will be able to use ergonomically correct patient transfer techniques.

Competence

Students will be able to suggest the necessary breathing exercises for pregnant women who have given birth and post-natal women, and move patients using ergonomically correct handling possibilities.
