Electrocardiography (LF_134)
About Study Course
Objective
1. To learn ECG recording techniques, the ability to assess, analyse and interpret ECG waveforms in the evaluation of myocardial status and function.
2. To promote the development of students’ clinical thinking.
Prerequisites
In normal anatomy and normal physiology.
Learning outcomes
As a result of completing the course, students will be able to describe the ECG recording technique; know the nomenclature, evaluation and characterisation of ECG waveform elements; describe the use of ECG in the diagnostic process and analyse the acquired ECG information, assess the degree of pathology.
As a result of completing the study course, students are able to perform patient examination using ECG; apply the results obtained by ECG to the clinical situation; orient in the results of electrocardiography examination; determine the direction of the electrical axis of the heart.
As a result of completing the course, students understand the application of ECG in clinical situations and in the treatment process; students analyse and interpret electrocardiographic data, distinguish the norm from pathology and formulate a medical finding.
