RSU Asian Society is organising the Vesak Week which is an event celebrated in South and South East Asia. All the buddhists around the world celebrate the birth, enlightenment and death of Gautama Buddha!
This year, the Month of Vesak started on 29th of April and ends on 29th of May! During this time, people get involved with charity work, meditation and making Vesak lanterns.
THE EVENT IS FREE & OPEN FOR EVERYONE!
Our event will be conducted in two parts.
- First part: a 'Vesak Lantern' crafting stall will be held at the RSU main building lobby from 21st May to 24th May 2018 during working hours.
We will be helping you to learn how to make Vesak lanterns and you can hang the lantern you made in the lobby!
Next to the lantern stall, there will be a charity stall where you can drop canned food, monetary donations and toys which we will donate to the children at Māras Centre.
If you like to volunteer at the lentern crafting stall, please sign up.
You will receive a certificate for active participation! - Second part: on 29th of May from 17:00 to 18:30 in RSU main building, Room G-201, a meditation session by Rayon Gor from Kolors Studio and a presentation on 'Time Perception' by Anna Esch will be held.
Please sign up for the meditation session.
We will provide mats and herbal tea for a relaxing time.
