Code of conduct for communication at the Rīga Stradiņš University (RSU) International Department.

  1. Respectful and professional communication
    All interactions with international applicants, whether by email, phone, or in-person, are conducted with respect, professionalism, and cultural sensitivity.

  2. Clear and transparent information
    Ensure all communication provides clear, accurate, and up-to-date information regarding application requirements, deadlines, and processes, etc.

  3. Confidentiality and data protection
    Adhere to personal data protection regulations (as defined in the Regulation (EU) 2016/679 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 27 April 2016) when handling information provided to International Department.

  4. Timely Email Responses
    Respond to emails typically within 24 to 48 hours. Exceptions apply, response times may extend to up to 5 business days. Respective information will be provided accordingly. 

  5. Working Hours
    The International Department operates during the following office hours: Monday to Thursday 8:30–17:00 (EET), Friday 8:30–16:00 (EET). Emails/phone calls received outside these hours will be addressed during the next business day.

  6. Communication on national and public holidays
    The International Department is closed on national holidays of the Republic of Latvia and public holidays. Students, applicants, partners, clients, and guests will be informed of any delays in responses due to these closures, and inquiries will be addressed promptly once the office reopens.

  7. Support across multiple channels
    Provide comprehensive support across multiple communication channels: email, phone, and virtual or on-site consultations during office hours.

  8. Equal treatment and non-discrimination
    Ensure a fair, equal, inclusive, and non-discriminatory treatment of all students, applicants, partners, clients, and guests regardless of race, skin colour, gender, religion, special needs, origin, or ethnicity. The International Department shall fully comply with applicable regulatory enactments and uphold principles of equity and diversity.

  9. Commitment to a friendly tone
    While maintaining professionalism, encourage a friendly and approachable tone in all communication with students, applicants, partners, clients, and guests.
