Study course description
Preliminary Knowledge:
Knowledge in biology, physiology, pathology and pharmacy courses completed.
Objective:
To provide knowledge on the acute exogenous intoxication epidemiology, toxicokinetics, toxicodynamics and characteristics of the specific and most urgent (more common poisoning causes and / or high toxicity grade), poisonous substances with recommended principles of treatment and, as well to teach students to act in acute, life-threatening toxicological situations before arrival emergency service.

Learning Outcomes
Knowledge:During the study course the students will complement the knowledge of clinical toxicology - toxicologically the most pressing substances, their toxicities, and treatment options.
Skills:The student will be able to: To assess the seriousness of the health condition of the poisoned person.
Competencies:Students will be able to use the acquired competencies on the risk factors of acute exogenous intoxication, epidemiology, the amount of immediate medical care for an acute toxicological patient, linking it to the specific clinical situation.
