| Preliminary Knowledge: | Experience in postgraduate studies; The study course “Higher Education Pedagogy” of the 1st year of doctoral studies completed. | ||||||||
| Objective: | Get acquainted with the specific nature of pedagogical work. Acquisition and development of teaching skills by a doctoral student as a professional doctor and a university lecturer, by strengthening the resident’s ability to structure and transfer the acquired theoretical and practical knowledge logically, within a limited period of time and in an understandable way to the relevant audience, patients, students, colleagues and society as a whole. | ||||||||

| Unaided Work: | Pedagogical work with students of higher education institutions or colleges, with an audience of medical and medical support postgraduate students - conducting lectures, classes or research projects of students in co-operation with the supervisors of doctoral thesis and/or professionals within the sector. 1) acquisition of methods for teaching theoretical and practical knowledge and skills of medical science and medicine to transfer knowledge to students, patients, medical professionals (an audience selected according to the specifics of doctoral studies and professional development interests); 2) preparation of teaching materials relevant to the type of pedagogical work and the chosen audience. The student's contribution to the improvement of the study process is the provision of meaningful feedback on the study course by filling out its evaluation questionnaire | ||||||||
| Assessment Criteria: | An opinion of the supervisor of the doctoral thesis or the Head of the Department (lesson observation, feedback from the target audience, self-assessment using a self-assessment questionnaire and feedback from the audience). The amount of work to be carried out is evaluated in academic hours, e.g. 1 CP = 40 academic hours, 2 CP = 80 academic hours or 1 academic hour (45 minutes) = 0.025 CP. A test – twice a year of study the doctoral student makes an entry in the Postgraduate Student Logbook about the pedagogical work carried out, indicating the type of pedagogical work (target audience chosen according to the specifics of doctoral studies and professional development interests – pedagogical work with students, pedagogical work with residents, pedagogical work with patients, educational activities and development of colleagues), the amount of work and place. The Head of the specialty programme, the Head of the relevant department or the person in charge of a medical institution confirms the specified information with a signature. | ||||||||

| Learning Outcomes | |||||||||
| Knowledge: | The doctoral student will be able to outline medical or psychological theories, define basic findings, systematise, select teaching material; upon completion of the study course, the doctoral student extends the theoretical knowledge and practical skills acquired in the selected specialty, as well as acquires knowledge related to the application of teaching methods: (a) in the pedagogical work of a higher education institution; (b) in the provision of continuing education in the field of teaching postgraduates of medicine and medical support fields. | ||||||||
| Skills: | The doctoral student will be able to choose the best teaching method, design and integrate the material to be studied into innovative pedagogical technologies. Will develop the ability to explain the material in an optimal way, to organise the learning process and feedback. Upon completion of the study course, the doctoral student will be able to carry out pedagogical work: (a) at the university, including conducting theoretical and practical classes and colloquia for students. In addition to pedagogical skills within this type of pedagogical work, the ability to provide constructive feedback and to lead , mentor and motivate younger colleagues for professional improvement is developed; (b) in educating patients, including developing interpersonal communication skills; (c) in the field of continuing education. | ||||||||
| Competencies: | The doctoral student will have developed professional, pedagogical, communicative and methodical competences related to the doctor's profession. | ||||||||
