Assessment
Unaided Work:
Individual work with literature to understand the essence of each method of analysis and its application. Practical lessons for individual analysis of video materials - preparation of the analyzed sample in spectrophotometry, chromatography, potentiometry; analysis and evaluation of results. Please fill in the study course survey, evaluating the existing course content and creating proposals for updating the course.
Assessment Criteria:
Analysis of analysis video materials and scientific publication (25%), tests during the study course (25%) and exam (50%).
Final Examination (Full-Time):Exam (Written)
Final Examination (Part-Time):Exam (Written)
Learning Outcomes
Knowledge:Upon successful completion of the study programme students will be able to: • formulate and explain the theoretical basis of refractometry, spectrophotometry (UV and IR) and chromatography; • to distinguish and evaluate advantages, disadvantages and application possibilities of instrumental methods.
Skills:Upon successful completion of the study program students will be able to: • to evaluate the methods necessary for testing the good of the medicinal product according to the physical and chemical properties of the substances; • use refractometry, UV and IR spectrophotometry, gas (GH) and solution (HPLC) chromatography to verify the identity and quantity of the substances; • use potentiometric titration for quantitative analysis of drug substances.
Competencies:As a result of the study course students will be able to evaluate instrumental analysis methods and apply them in drug analysis.
