Objective:
Acquaint students with the specific nature of professional ethics in the work of a lawyer. Develop a systematic understanding of the basic principles, values and norms, rights, duties and responsibilities of a lawyer’s professional ethics.

Assessment
Unaided Work:
Independent study of the literature given; independent solving of professional ethical issues and tasks. In order to evaluate the quality of the study course as a whole, the student must fill out the study course evaluation questionnaire on the Student Portal.
Assessment Criteria:
Cumulative assessment on a 10-point grading scale. The final assessment consists of: • Examination: 50% • Answers in seminars: 20% • Test on the "Codes": 30%

Learning Outcomes
Knowledge:Know the basic principles of professional ethics and their application in the work of a lawyer.
Skills:Able to judge and analyse ethical issues independently; to use correct reasoning to justify their ethical position; able to adopt the appropriate attitude towards clients, colleagues and the public in compliance with the requirements of professional ethics; able to deal with moral dilemmas.
Competencies:Able to identify and solve issues of a lawyer’s professional ethics, to know the theory and practice of the lawyer’s professional ethics.
