Study course description
Preliminary Knowledge:
Prior knowledge in Communication Psychology is required.
Objective:
To introduce students to the essence, problems and regularities, methods of conflictology, to form an idea of alternative dispute resolution methods, paying special attention to mediation. Tasks: 1. to introduce students to the essence, problems and regularities, methods of conflictology; 2. promote the ability to see and understand conflict situations, people's behavior in them, and use this knowledge in professional activities; 3. get acquainted with different conflict resolution strategies and teach them in professional activities.

Assessment
Unaided Work:
Independent work: Group project, situation analysis, discussions. In order to evaluate the quality of the study course as a whole, the student must fill out the study course evaluation questionnaire on the Student Portal.
Assessment Criteria:
Active participation in classes, timely submitted, high-quality completed homework - 40%; quality of answers in classes - 10%, written exam - 50%.

Learning Outcomes
Knowledge:After completing the course, students will know regulatory acts and be familiar with scientific literature, being aware of the importance and possibilities of conflict resolution, as well as the specificity of mediation in professional activity.
Skills:Students, integrating previously acquired knowledge, will be able to identify and critically analyze conflicts, propose solutions, find the necessary regulation and justify their opinion.
Competencies:Students will be able to apply their knowledge to solve a practical case (case) using conflict resolution principles and diverse approaches, accordingly developing an in-depth perspective in the context of police work.
