Objective: | To enhance MA students’ comprehension of research and skill in developing their own draft study – Master’s thesis, including its detailed substantiation and implementation process, the planned data acquisition and processing procedures; evaluate the possible risks and hazard of the planned study; characterise the legal and ethical aspects of the study, as well as draw the attention to scientific writing. | ||||||||

Unaided Work: | Perform the search, selection and analysis of the literature, which is appropriate for the study subject, and develop their draft study, including the substantiation of the study, the bibliography and detailed description of study methodology; evaluate the possible risks and hazard of the planned study; characterise the ethical aspects of the study; and present the project. | ||||||||
Assessment Criteria: | In accordance with the requirements set by RSU for assessment of a Master’s thesis. | ||||||||

Knowledge: | Students comprehend, compare and critically evaluate different theoretical dispositions and study results in relation to the study subject; comprehend the requirements of the drafting and implementation of Master’s Thesis and its assessment criteria. | ||||||||
Skills: | Students formulate the problematic issues of the research; pursuant to the subject, select and critically evaluate the sources of literature; substantiate the topicality and problem of the study, formulate the aim and question(s)/hypothesis (hypotheses) of the study; choose the methodology of the study that is suitable for the study aim pursuant to the ethical norms in the study; describe the planned data analysis methods; and evaluate the risks and hazards of the potential study; collect, process and analyse data, describe and interpret obtained results. | ||||||||
Competencies: | Students independently plan and implement a study that is compliant with the basic principles of research and ethical norms. | ||||||||
