Preliminary Knowledge:
In normal anatomy, functional physiology, fundamentals of physics, and internal diseases.
Objective:
To learn the aetiology, pathogenesis, clinic, complications, treatment principles, tactics in emergency situations of general surgery, traumatology, aetiology of diseases.

During the study course, students independently prepare for theoretical lectures on individual topics.
Assessment Criteria:
Student participation in practical classes, successful completion of test works are assessed. Final examination – an exam.

Learning Outcomes
Knowledge:After successful fulfilment of the study course requirements, the student will have acquired the knowledge to describe the aetiology and pathogenesis of surgical and traumatological diseases, clinical signs, possible complications, name differential diagnoses and necessary diagnostic measures, describe prevention and treatment measures.
Skills:As a result of completing the study course, the student knows how to differentiate clinical signs and symptoms of general surgery, traumatology diseases, to rank them according to severity and degree of danger.
Competencies:Will be able to assess, diagnose, plan and provide emergency assistance measures for surgical and traumatology patients.
