Study course description
Preliminary Knowledge:
Anatomy, Functional physiology, philosophy and medical ethics, communication psychology and communication skills, clinical care and rehabilitation in patient care, civil and environmental protection, first aid.
Objective:
To strengthen the theoretical knowledge and practical skills acquired in the 1st year study program. Patient care is integrated in the clinical placement, taking into account the basic needs of patients and clients, in accordance with the principles of professional ethics, the standard of the nursing profession and the program of the first year of study.

Assessment
Unaided Work:
Complying with the practical working hours (20 days - 8 hours) provided for the practice in full, making entries in the documentation provided for the placement (Placement report, etc.), submitting mutual suggestions (of the student and the practice leader/mentor) regarding the qualitative and organizational content of the placement.
Assessment Criteria:
Submission of the placement report and defense of the placement, in accordance with the evaluation criteria of the placement (Placement I report appendix), in accordance with the RSU study regulations.

Learning Outcomes
Knowledge:Provision and assessment of the basic needs of healthy and sick clients / patients; the role of asepsis and antiseptics and their application in practice; provision of an epidemiological regimen and prevention of intrachospinal infections; lack of self-care of the patient, ensuring the basic physiological needs of the patient.
Skills:Practical skills required to meet a patient's basic physiological needs, including: NI prevention, comfort and safety, all types of hygiene procedures, patient bedding, patient feeding, patient excretion collection and disinfection procedures, patient transport in bed, room and environment, respecting safety and ergonomics basic principles.
Competencies:Skills in meeting the basic physiological needs of patients, including: prevention of nasocomial infections, patient comfort and safety, all types of hygiene procedures, bedding, patient feeding (enteral), safe transport of patients, observing occupational safety measures and basic principles of ergonomics. Evaluation of vital signs and compliance with the norm, applying the basics of first aid (ABC algorithms).
