Study course description
Preliminary Knowledge:
Macroeconomics. Business communication and ethics. Business English. Civil and environmental defence.
Objective:
To provide students with knowledge of international business and community interaction management, and to provide students with international experience in a study visit to business, research and public administration institutions in Brussels.

Assessment
Unaided Work:
1) Preparation of questions before the study visit: students prepare three multiple choice type questions about each lecture/class based on topics and knowledge acquired in the classes. These questions are used to strengthen the student knowledge. 2) Preparation for debate in class and participation in the debate – in the 3rd lecture/class before the study visit, debates are organised about a collectively chosen statement which is related to the course topics. Students are divided into teams "For"/"Against". Students work independently, by preparing in-depth topic research and form 3 – 5 expanded and supported justifications according to their role in the debate. 3) Overview of the study visit – after the study visit students have to write an overview of the study visit according to the formed questions (see "Questions on the class material" in theme No. 3). In order to evaluate the quality of the study course as a whole, the student must fill out the study course evaluation questionnaire on the Student Portal.
Assessment Criteria:
1) Question formation – 10%; 2) Knowledge strengthening test (based on the prepared questions) – 10%; 3) Debates (preparation for argumentation and participation in the debate) – 20%; 4) Overview of the visit – 20%; 5) Examination – 40%.

Learning Outcomes
Knowledge:The student knows the classification of business and corporate governance models and their development, as well as the latest trends. Knowledge of current issues in international business and start-up entrepreneurship economics and management in the European Union and worldwide.
Skills:The student is able to identify trends of change in economics and business. Is able to formulate information in writing and verbally in accurate manner and reasoned discussions on general and specialized aspects of international business and start-up entrepreneurship. Awareness and application skills of intercultural relations.
Competencies:Student is able to prepare and operate outside the usual work environment and culture (outside the comfort zone).
