Preliminary Knowledge:
General Psychology. Developmental Psychology. History of Psychology.
Objective:
To develop the understanding of the historical development of personality theories and present situation, the diversity of theoretical approaches and the criteria for their evaluation, the personality structure, the factors shaping behaviour and development. To acquaint students with fundamental theories of personality psychology. To promote students' self-awareness of their personality.

Assessment
Unaided Work:
Simulation games in seminars, self-report tests. Report on one of the theories and its presentation. Glossary of terminology, analysis of one of the recent year research work in personality psychology. Quotations from books of 5 theory authors. Preparation for the examination – a test on basic concepts of personality theories.
Assessment Criteria:
Active participation in seminars; making group presentations – 10%; report on the critique and development of one personality theory today and its presentation – 30%; analysis of one of the recent year research journal on personality psychology – 10%; glossary of terminology – 10%; extract from quotations of 5 books – 10%; end-of-course examination – 30%.

Learning Outcomes
Knowledge:Students understand general concepts of personality psychology and their relation to other branches, explain basic problems and facts analysed in personality psychology, know terminology, have an idea of basic theories and processes in personality psychology, critically evaluate personality theories in contemporary context.
Skills:Students use different terms of personality theories, compare theories, use cognitive and practical skills acquired in the course of personality psychology to carry out professional tasks.
Competencies:Students have good knowledge of personality psychology theories; have some self-analysis skills. Students have the skills in structuring their learning and group activities.
