Preliminary Knowledge: | Preliminary knowledge about physical activity is recommended, but knowledge may be obtained also during educational process, if it has not been previously mastered. | ||||||||
Objective: | Encourage student knowledge acquisition about the different types of fitness classes. | ||||||||

Assessment | |||||||||
Unaided Work: | During the study course acquisition students improve their physical fitness independently. During the course students work independently and in groups demonstrating various exercises – exercises using dumbbells, gym balls, big fitness balls, balance pads, gym sticks, gymnastic rubber for strengthening and corresponding stretching exercises, doing aerobic exercise program and performing different exercises movements – walking exercises. Evaluate the intensity of the lesson by controlling the heart rate during the lesson, performing aerobic, strength and flexibility exercises independently to take care of improving own physical fitness. In order to evaluate the quality of the study course as a whole, the student must fill out the study course evaluation questionnaire on the Student Portal. | ||||||||
Assessment Criteria: | Active participation in practical classes form 60% of the grade (if 7 classes have been attended, it gives grade 6). 40% of the grade student receives for theoretical and practical exercises at the end of the study course. Theoretical as well as practical exercise performance is assessed in a system of, accordingly 1 or 2 points, where 2 points is maximum. | ||||||||

Learning Outcomes | |||||||||
Knowledge: | As a result of the study course acquisition students will be able to: • describe the different types of health-promoting fitness; • list and classify health gymnastics; • define concepts – Aerobics, Step Aerobics, Pilates, Body Toning, Fitball, etc.; • describe the structure of the fitness class; • describe the workout load for each of the fitness types offered. | ||||||||
Skills: | Having completed this study course, the students are able to: • use strength, balance, stretching, flexibility and endurance exercises in different types of fitness classes; • use large exercise balls, balance equipment, small exercise balls, sticks, dumbbells and other equipment used in fitness classes; • vary the physical load in different types of fitness classes; • follow their heart rate. | ||||||||
Competencies: | Using the acquired knowledge and skills, students will be able to evaluate different kinds of fitness applications of their health and physical fitness improvement. | ||||||||
