Study course description
Preliminary Knowledge:
All students who have successfully passed the requirements of the Public Health professional Bachelor’s study programme are admitted to the state examination.
Objective:
The national examination is organised as an integrated examination, simultaneously assessing knowledge of public health and its various subfields, such as environmental health, occupational health, epidemiology, social medicine, health promotion and education, health care organisation, management and financing, as well as the student’s analytical and communication skills.
Assessment
Unaided Work:
The national examination of the Public Health professional Bachelor’s study programme is organised in accordance with the Academic Regulations I of Rīga Stradiņš University, approved at the meeting of the RSU Senate on 14.06.2011, minutes No. 1-2/21.06.11, amendments of 02.09.2013, minutes No. 1-2/02.09.13 and in accordance with the National Examination Process Scheme (https://intranet.rsu.lv/docs/procesi/Lapas/Procesi.aspx)
Assessment Criteria:
The members of the National Examination Commission shall evaluate each question of the oral examination individually on a 10-point scale and determine the overall average assessment at the end. In the event of disagreement between the members of the Commission, the Chair of the Commission may propose to review the student’s written answers and listen to the audio recording again.

Learning Outcomes
Knowledge:An integrated examination that assesses knowledge of public health and its subfields, such as environmental health, occupational health, epidemiology, health promotion and education, health care organisation, management and financing, as well as analytical and communication skills.
Skills:To analyse the situational task, identify problems and plan actions according to the identified problems.
Competencies:To analyse data, group it according to priorities.
