Unaided Work: | In order to understand the idea of social determinants of health and their impact on public health, students read scientific articles about the relationship of these determinants with various health outcomes and discuss what they have read in class. In order to be able to combine theoretical assumptions about social determinants of health and their practical manifestations in public health, students analyze real examples related to health and present the conclusions to the audience. Presentations are intended for students to better learn speaking skills, to learn to formulate and clearly express their opinion, as well as to substantiate it with arguments. The student prepares an extensive analysis of situations (in essay format) in which he analyzes the social determinants of health in his/her life.
Assessment Criteria: | Summary of a scientific article, a reasoned essay on associations of some SDoH and health outcomes, participation in group work and presentations, successfully passed written exam.
