Assessment | |||||||||
Unaided Work: | Within the framework of individual work the students are able to improve their manual skills practising on virtual dental simulators and, at specified times, make certain types of procedures in preclinic, preparing for the planned lesson. According to the list on e-studies: acquire theory and read recommended publications, comprehension of content will be controlled by e-tests during the lessons.
Assessment Criteria: | For the entire period – active participation in practical classes. Assessment for every manipulation carried out during practical classes and e-test on theoretical questions. colloquiums – evaluation theory questions on themes acquired during the semester.
Final Examination (Full-Time): | Exam (Written)
Final Examination (Part-Time):
Learning Outcomes | |||||||||
Knowledge: | Upon successful completion of the study course the students will be able to describe stages of treatment, technologies and materials applied for treatment, instruments used in prosthetics, making removable and non-removable dentures. The students will be able to create a simple prosthetic treatment plan.
Skills: | Upon successful completion of the study course the students will be able to perform the following manipulations: tooth preparation according to the principles of biomechanics, making provisional crowns, taking impressions of all types of dentures, post and core modelling, bite registration, fitting the framework of crowns and cast dentures, trying of dentures, denture adjustments, cementing crowns and fixed partial dentures as well as simple treatment plan presentation and drawing design of prosthesis.
Competencies: | Upon successful completion of the study course the students will be able to justify necessity of manipulations, selection of instruments and materials as well as to critically evaluate their own failures and treatment related risks.
