Assessment
Unaided Work:
Individual and pair work – preparing presentations on topics of the course.
Assessment Criteria:
- Assessment of the formed cavities in accordance with the basic principles of cavity - Assessment of the filling quality according to quality criteria; - Active participation in classes; quality of oral answers; - Presentations in pairs on the topics of the course; - End-of-topics tests; - At the end of the course – an examination consisting of a practical part (OSCE) and a spoken part. In OSCE, the students’ practical skills are being assessed: cavity preparation; placing of the matrix system and rubber dam, selection of filling instruments, filling of cavities and finishing. In spoken part, the students’ theoretical knowledge is assessed.
Final Examination (Full-Time):Exam
Final Examination (Part-Time):
Learning Outcomes
Knowledge:On successful completion of the course the students will be able to: - define caries and cavity classification; - list and describe basic principles and steps of cavity formation; - list the filling materials, describe their classification, qualities and indication for usage; - recognize and list dental burs and instruments.
Skills:On successful completion of the course, the students will be able to - form cavities on the maxillary and the mandibular teeth; - select and use the right filling material; - fill up the formed cavities with the adequate filling material.
