Assessment | |||||||||
Unaided Work: | Students should independently learn the theoretical part of the study course by reading the mandatory literature and presentations in e-studies specified for each topic. Learning the specified literature is a mandatory part of the course.
Assessment Criteria: | Course Part 1: Evaluation of Student-Created Access Cavities According to Basic Principles of Cavity Formation and Cavity Quality Criteria: Evaluation of root canal localization according to basic principles of root canal localization. Assessment of appropriate instrument selection for root canal preparation. Evaluation of root canal preparation techniques. Evaluation of root canal filling techniques. Evaluation of individual stages in the process of tooth preparation and filling. Theoretical assessments after mastering the topic. Practical skill assessment (practical test): practical application of knowledge and acquired manual skills will be tested in a preclinical training base. Theoretical examination at the end of Part 1 (written). Practical part: Evaluation will include appropriate bur selection, conformity of access cavity shape, instrument selection for root canal preparation, preparation technique, preparation quality, tooth preparation for filling, filling instrument selection, appropriate filling material selection, and filling quality. General theoretical knowledge assessment - written. Course Part 2: Student’s theoretical knowledge assessment after mastering the topic - written test. Oral examination of theoretical knowledge before performing manipulations on a patient. Clinical work evaluation: conformity in performing diagnostics, diagnosis determination, appropriate selection of isolation, correctness of manipulation sequence, bur selection, conformity in access cavity formation, appropriateness of root canal treatment instrument selection, determination of working length, root canal preparation, selection of irrigating medication, irrigation technique, choice of inter-appointment medication, inter-appointment medication placement instruments and technique, filling instruments and materials selection, filling technique, filling completion, tooth sealing, radiological examinations during endodontic treatment. If all theoretical examinations during the course (both Part 1 and Part 2) are passed on the first attempt, a grade of 8 or higher is obtained in the final examination, and at least 80% is achieved in practical evaluation and the practical test - the student receives an automatic pass in the exam with a grade of 8 or higher - according to the obtained grades. Written tests, assessment of practical manipulation skills (practical test), investigation of problem situations, theoretical test at the end of the course (written).
Final Examination (Full-Time): | Exam (Written)
Final Examination (Part-Time):
