The century-long history of Latvia, undoubtedly, is also connected with the establishment of the national legal system, a new national regulatory framework and an institutional system. Latvian lawyers, legal specialists, law theoreticians and practitioners have played a major role in the evolutionary process of the state of Latvia in restoring its independence, in the development and consolidation of the state.

The most important theoretical and practical issues related to the establishment of the legal system of Latvia will be considered at the conference, at its plenary session, where leading law scientists and practitioners will deliver their reports.

During the conference particular attention will be paid to the following range of issues:

  • Problems in training specialists of law enforcement institutions: past experience in future challenges;
  • Topical issues relating to special investigation measures and operational activities;
  • Cybersecurity and data protection;
  • Legal protection problems for natural and legal persons;
  • Optimisation trends of operational capacity of law enforcement institutions and special services in current circumstances.

These and other issues will be considered, analysed and solutions will be sought at the conference. Professionals and experts on issues of security, prevention and combating of crime from Lithuania, Poland, Ukraine, Sweden and Latvia will take part in the conference.
