The Department of History, Theory and Ethics of Medicine at the Heinrich-Heine-University in Düsseldorf (Germany), the Department of History of Medicine at Lund University (Sweden), and the Institute of the History of Medicine at Rīga Stradiņš University (Latvia), are organising a symposium about medicine in the Baltic Sea region. The focus is on scientific networks and transfers since the turn of the 20th century with a prime focus on the Cold War. The symposium is supported by the German Research Foundation (DFG) and the European Association for the History of Medicine and Health (EAHMH).
