Media and information literacy professional Kateryna Vogt (pictured) will be giving a special guest lecture at Rīga Stradiņš Unviersity (RSU). The lecture is supported by the U.S. Embassy in Latvia and is open to students as well as anyone else interested.
In her lecture Vogt will discuss the development of the current information environment and the impact of digitalisation on the way people deal with information. Students will discover why disinformation is more widespread than ever before and what it is that makes us vulnerable to manipulated content. The lecture will explore what simple actions people can take to develop healthy habits in regards to consuming digital information. The topics covered during the lecture will encourage prospective journalists and media professionals to think about what steps they can take to help their audiences orient themselves in the complex and polluted information environment and how to create demand for unbiased news and facts.
