Objective:
The goal of the research work is to produce original research within the sector, to develop skills in publishing the results of their research work in the form of theses and scientific articles cited internationally. Also, to improve communication and reasoning skills in presenting research results, both on a local and international scientific scale. The research work envisages the doctoral student’s independent work, continuously increasing their qualification in both the methodology and the interpretation of data, by producing the content of the doctoral thesis under the guidance of the research supervisor.
Assessment
Unaided Work:
In September of each academic year, the doctoral student has to submit reports on the performance of research activity within the time limit specified by the Department of Doctoral Studies, and has to prepare a presentation of about 5 minutes on the progress with the research work. The research work envisages the doctoral student’s independent work related to preparation and writing of the doctoral thesis under the guidance of his/her research supervisor. While learning the course, the doctoral student must fulfill the following requirements: to maintain contact and work in cooperation with his/her supervisor of the doctoral thesis consistently; agree on the topic of the doctoral thesis with the supervisor; expand the knowledge of research methods in the respective sector; identify scientific literature necessary for the doctoral thesis; create the empirical basis for the research work; submit a draft work plan to the supervisor; keep the supervisor regularly informed about the progress of the research, discussing achievements and research problems encountered; regularly discuss the written parts of the text for the doctoral thesis; coordinate texts of scientific publications with the supervisor; inform RSU Department of Doctoral Studies about the progress of the research. The student's contribution to the improvement of the study process is the provision of meaningful feedback on the study course by filling out its evaluation questionnaire.
Assessment Criteria:
At the end of each year of study, the Head of the study programme together with the Department of Doctoral Studies establish a committee for evaluation of the research work of doctoral students on the basis of the reports submitted by doctoral students and the presentation on the progress of research. In the case of a positive assessment, the doctoral student is awarded credit points for the year of study. In order to obtain CP for the research work at the end of the 3rd year of study, the doctoral student has to have at least one scientific publication related to the subject matter of the doctoral thesis in peer-reviewed scientific publications or acknowledgement of acceptance of the article for publication.
Final Examination (Full-Time):Test
